First of all, I'd like to say that I am in the middle of a spelling drought. I have not been able to spell words correctly on the first, second, or third try. For example, I had to respell "Rhyme" five times before I finally remembered to put the "h" in. I never remember that "h" being there. It seems as if it snuck up upon me and I am now only realizing that ryme has an "h." Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm looking for the minimal amount of work to get the best possible result here. But let this be my primary example of how we should have had spelling bees in high school. Once grade school was over, spell check came in and now I can't even spell conscincenes right.
But back to the title. I like how the title always reminds me what the cheese I am talking about. I could be on a tangent and procrastinating and I will always know what I was trying to get to because the title is the guiding idea.
But back to the subject the title was talking about. Did you know that there is a dictionary that is used just for rhymes. Okay, it is not exactly called the Rhyme Dictionary, it's called the Rhyme Zone, but I like Rhyme Dictionary better so I will call it that. You could be writing a song and you need something that rhymes with kayak and BAM! the dictionary will list out the rhymes of that word for you, organized by syllable. It can be a great idea generator but it can also give you weird rhymes for your word.
I decided to give the Rhyme Dictionary a challenge. I submitted the word orange and got the response of, "sorry, no perfect rhymes were found." I could have seen this coming so I tried looking for, "near rhymes," and got the results of "door hinge," "hostench," "lorincz," and "lozenge." I definitely put those words into a song. I imagine some of you readers are imagining me singing on a stage and you hear me say the word "orange" and you will think to yourself,"Oh no! He is going to fail and it will be humiliating for there is no word that rhymes with "orange!" But then I will whip out the phrase "door hinge" and all will be saved. Now that may be a dramatization but that is the rhyme that I will suggest to Marshall Mathers (Eminem) for his next song/rap. Soon you will see a song names "Orange" by Eminem featuring The Daumenator. This may also be another dramatization, but at least I have an idea for Eminem's rapping skills, and as far as I know, you have diddly squat when it comes to cool rhymes.
By the way, some of you may be thinking about the word, "silver." Well technically The Rhyme Zone says "Quicksilver" counts as a rhyme, but I just say that that is cheating. But there are 661 results for near rhymes and I don't want to list all the results so "Quicksilver" it is.
As for "purple," there are no perfect rhymes. There are, however, 92 different near rhymes for purple. So far, "orange" is the leading non-rhymeable word.
There are some crazy rhymes that the Zone comes up with. The craziest one that I could find was a rhyme for "by" that was six syllables long and was called "adl-tabatabai." But as for ones that made sense, there was a seven syllable rhyme for "back," which was, "diversionary attack"
If you want to find rhymes of your own at the place that I have been talking about, go to the Rhyme Zone.
The Daumenator has spoken, for he ain't broken
